The Court of Appeal in Abuja has issued a stay of execution regarding a judgment that mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress along with four other political parties. This decision was reached by a three-member panel led by Justice A. B. Mohammed, who expressed disapproval of the ruling made by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court. The stay allows the affected parties to maintain their registration status while the appeal process is ongoing.
