The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the implementation of an anti-defection policy designed to ensure that elected officials remain loyal to the party following elections. This policy, revealed on Tuesday at the party's National Secretariat in Abuja, applies to candidates for governorship and National Assembly positions. Notably, the party's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, have been granted exemptions from this requirement. The initiative aims to strengthen party cohesion and prevent defections that could undermine the party's electoral integrity.
