The Senate Committee on Public Accounts has officially exonerated the Nigeria Customs Service from accusations regarding the non-remittance of ₦62.2 billion to the Federation Account. This conclusion was reached after an investigative hearing that included testimony from the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi. The committee examined 77 audit queries outlined in the 2019 and 2020 reports, ultimately determining that the Customs Service had complied with its financial obligations.
