The Court of Appeal in Abuja has issued a suspension of the Federal High Court's ruling that mandated the deregistration of five political parties, among them the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This decision was made on Tuesday, allowing the ADC and the other affected parties to continue their operations without interruption. The appellate court's stay of execution pertains to the judgment rendered by Justice Peter Odo Lifu, which had previously called for the parties' deregistration. This development provides a temporary reprieve for the ADC and its leadership, including Atiku Abubakar.
