The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has officially welcomed former Senator Iyabo Obasanjo into its fold after her departure from the All Progressives Congress (APC). Iyabo Obasanjo, who is the daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, previously served as the senator representing Ogun Central from 2007 to 2011. Following her unsuccessful re-election bid in 2011, she left Nigeria for an extended period. The PDP has now handed her the party's ticket to contest for the Ogun Senate seat in the upcoming elections.
