The National Pension Commission (PenCom) has initiated efforts to include approximately nine million informal transport workers in the pension scheme. This initiative aims to enhance financial security for these workers by providing them access to pension-linked financing for modern mass transit vehicles. PenCom is currently in discussions with the National Union of Road Transport Workers to facilitate this inclusion and promote sustainable retirement savings among informal sector participants.
