Qudus Ajeyemi, a 27-year-old Nigerian student residing in the UK, has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison following his conviction for attempted rape and sexual assault. The charges arose from an incident in March 2023 in Hull, where Ajeyemi offered assistance to a heavily intoxicated woman but proceeded to touch her without consent and undress despite her objections. The victim managed to escape and subsequently reported the assault, leading to a trial where a recorded FaceTime call was presented as evidence, in which Ajeyemi admitted his actions and sought forgiveness. In addition to his prison sentence, he has been ordered to register as a sex offender for life, subject to a seven-year restraining order, and will face deportation to Nigeria upon completing his sentence.
