Sanwo-Olu directs round-the-clock evacuation as refuse heaps litter Lagos roads

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has instructed the Ministry of Environment and relevant agencies to enhance waste evacuation efforts throughout the city in response to the accumulation of refuse on major roads and highways. In a statement issued by Gboyega Akosile, the governor's special adviser on media and publicity, it was emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring a clean and healthy environment for residents. The governor has mandated that operations be conducted around the clock to address the backlog of waste, with additional resources allocated to improve operational efficiency. Akosile reassured the public that the waste management challenges are temporary and that significant progress is being made in various locations, urging residents to remain patient as the government implements a comprehensive response to the situation.
