The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is investigating Godwin Sunday Ajuluchukwucheya, also known as Prophet Sunday Koboko, for allegedly defrauding his ministry's members of N70.39 million. The EFCC's Enugu Zonal Directorate is examining claims that the prophet solicited large sums from worshippers under the pretense of providing spiritual interventions and investment opportunities. One petitioner, Okey Uwakwe, reported that he paid N6.23 million for spiritual assistance to bring his brother back from abroad and N3.25 million for help in conceiving after 15 years of childlessness. Additional allegations include the prophet's solicitation of contributions for a purported N33 billion lottery win and a rice-processing venture valued at N1 billion, with Uwakwe alone contributing N13.33 million without receiving any benefits. The EFCC has indicated that the total amount collected from various church members is N70.39 million, and investigations are ongoing, with plans to charge the suspect in court upon completion.
