The Department of State Services (DSS) has expressed its opposition to provisions in the proposed security trust fund bill that would permit foreign funding. During a public hearing organized by the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence in Abuja, the DSS cautioned that allowing foreign financial contributions could jeopardize sensitive intelligence operations and pose a risk to national security. The agency emphasized the need for amendments to the bill to safeguard the integrity of national security measures.
