The Federal Government has announced that it will not pursue the establishment of a new national carrier for Nigeria, citing the challenges faced by government-owned airlines under bureaucratic and political constraints. Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, conveyed this decision during a ceremony in Lagos, where he unveiled two newly acquired Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft. The Minister emphasized the need for a different approach to aviation management in Nigeria, highlighting the difficulties that have historically plagued state-run airlines.
