Naming Boeing 737 after Achebe, Obi of Onitsha honours Nigeria’s heritage – Okonkwo, UNA Chairman

United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has officially unveiled two Boeing 737-800NG aircraft named after the renowned novelist Professor Chinua Achebe and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe. The announcement was made by the airline’s executive chairman, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, during a ceremony held in Lagos. Okonkwo emphasized that this initiative is a tribute to Nigeria's rich cultural heritage. Additionally, he revealed that the airline plans to expand its fleet with the acquisition of four more aircraft in the upcoming months.
