The Federal Government has called on Nigerian journalists to focus on national stability and patriotism by avoiding coverage of the activities of terrorists, bandits, and other criminal elements. This appeal was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a two-day National Security Summit held in Abuja. The government emphasized the importance of a media blackout on such activities to help mitigate their impact on national security.
