The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Zamfara State has raised alarms regarding the recent resurgence of banditry, attributing the situation to the Federal Government's inadequate protection of citizens and their property. In a statement from Gusau, the party's Assistant Publicity Secretary, Murtala Gusau, conveyed condolences to the communities affected by attacks in Zurmi, Maradun, and Anka, as well as to security agencies mourning the loss of three police officers due to an explosion on the Bagega–Anka road. The NDC emphasized that the ongoing violence reflects significant leadership challenges and called for enhanced security measures to address the crisis. Additionally, the party criticized remarks made by the state governor in a BBC interview, where he allegedly stated he did not commit to resolving insecurity during his campaign, further highlighting their concerns regarding the state's security situation.
