The Kebbi State government has initiated measures to safeguard rice production following an invasion of Quelea birds that have devastated farmlands across five local government areas. In response to the crisis, agricultural extension agents and crop protection officers have been assigned to identify infested areas and conduct daily monitoring of bird activities. This proactive approach aims to mitigate the impact of the bird invasion on local agriculture and ensure the sustainability of rice farming in the region.
