Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdulkadir Yahaya emphasized the necessity for enhanced financial resources and improved institutional collaboration to effectively combat gender-based violence (GBV) in Nigeria. Speaking to the press, he highlighted the importance of dedicated funding to facilitate thorough investigations and prosecutions of GBV cases. ACP Yahaya, who serves as the AC Admin and Finance at the Kaduna State Police Command, also called for ongoing capacity-building training for Divisional Police Officers, who are often the initial responders to incidents involving battery, defilement, rape, child abuse, and child labor.
