The Abanyama community in the Creek Town area of Odupani Local Government Area of Cross River State has experienced a return to normalcy following the arrest of 49-year-old Akaniyene Ignatius by state police operatives. Ignatius is suspected of committing the brutal murders of two prominent elders in the community, which had led to widespread fear and the exodus of residents. In his confession, he stated that he dismembered the bodies of the victims as a form of vengeance for the death of his parents. The police continue to investigate the case as the community seeks to heal from the traumatic events.
