Laolu Akande, a former presidential media aide, has urged Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, to return to Nigeria to address the corruption allegations against her following her recent acquittal by a UK court. During an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Akande expressed that while the court's decision was positive, it does not resolve the ongoing issues related to her alleged corruption. He emphasized the importance of Alison-Madueke confronting the cases brought against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which include significant asset forfeitures. Akande stated that it is essential for her to return and defend herself in Nigeria, allowing the legal process to unfold.
