A magnitude-6.0 earthquake struck the Gulf of California early Tuesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey, USGS. The USGS said the earthquake occurred at about 12:45 p.m. local time, with its epicentre located approximately 46 miles (74 kilometres) south-southwest of El Progreso, Mexico.
