Three Crowns Milk, a dairy brand from FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, has crowned Olaide Adesina as the winner of the Three Crowns Mum of the Year 2026 competition, with the grand finale held on July 19 at the Classique Event Centre, Oregun, Lagos. Now in its eighth edition, the Three Crowns Mum of the Year competition has grown into one of Nigeria’s foremost initiatives dedicated to celebrating mothers and recognising their contributions to family and society. Adesina emerged winner after a rigorous selection process, joining the list of women honoured over the years for their inspiring stories and dedication to their families. Omotola Ade-Onojobi and Hajara Omoniyi were named first and second runners-up, respectively. The top three winners, along with two members of their families each, received an all-expenses-paid trip to Zanzibar, Tanzania, a one-year supply of Three Crowns Milk products, and shopping vouchers. The other finalists—Akpan Chika Cindy, Edna Kangna’an and Rita Robert Joseph—received double-door refrigerators, a supply of Three Crowns Milk products and a cash prize of N500,000 each. The 2026 grand finale, themed “Crowning Our Treasures,” featured an immersive theatre-style production that brought the finalists’ personal stories to life through drama, live music and stage performances. Hosted by media personality Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, the event culminated in the announcement of the winners before an audience of families, consumers, business partners, stakeholders and media representatives. Organisers said this year’s competition attracted more than 150,000 valid entries from mothers across Nigeria. Entries were screened by an independent panel, with the top 10 contestants advancing to the semi-final stage, where they campaigned for public votes on the brand’s social media platforms. Following the public voting process, six finalists progressed to the grand finale and were assessed by a panel of judges comprising actress Chizzy Alichi Mbah, entrepreneur Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, wellness advocate Jamila Lawal and fitness expert Ekerette Ekemini, popularly known as Kemen. Contestants were evaluated on physical wellness, mental agility, emotional intelligence and family engagement. Speaking at the event, Marketing Director of FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Maureen Ifada, said the initiative reflects the company’s appreciation for Nigerian mothers and its commitment to their wellbeing. She noted that the competition continues to evolve while reinforcing the importance of supporting women who play a central role in strengthening families and communities. Also speaking, Marketing Manager for Three Crowns Milk, Chioma Otisi-Igwe, said the initiative celebrates mothers whose sacrifices often go unnoticed and reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to promoting their health and wellbeing. Reacting to her victory, Adesina described the recognition as an unexpected honour, dedicating the award to her children and to mothers across Nigeria who continue to make sacrifices for their families every day. Three Crowns Milk said the Mum of the Year initiative remains a key part of its commitment to promoting nutrition, healthy living and programmes that recognise the vital role mothers play in raising healthier families and building stronger communities.
