The Zamfara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to repositioning the state-owned Amusement Park as a centre for tourism, recreation and economic development. The Commissioner for Commerce, Tourism and Industries, Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi, gave the assurance while receiving the management of the Zamfara State Amusement Park during a familiarisation visit to his office in Gusau. Shinkafi said the facility has the potential to contribute significantly to the state’s economy by promoting tourism, creating jobs and attracting investment. He pledged the ministry’s support towards repositioning the park to effectively deliver on its mandate and become a viable recreational destination. According to him, those values are essential to transforming the amusement park into a vibrant centre for leisure, family recreation and tourism. Earlier, the General Manager of the park said the visit was aimed at introducing the new management to the commissioner and seeking the ministry’s support in addressing operational challenges. He highlighted some achievements recorded by the park and expressed optimism that closer collaboration with the ministry would strengthen its operations.
