Learn moreTalia Ergas, Gabrielle Chase/Business InsiderAs someone with a long torso, an ill-fitting one-piece swimsuit can make me feel like I'm being cut in half. It comes with the territory of being vertically gifted. Many one-piece suits I've tried will ride up in the rear, dig in at my shoulders, or feel tight through the middle. It doesn't feel great to lie down when I'm being scrunched in like this, let alone get wet.Fortunately, there are brands that carry long-torso swimsuits to solve the perpetual wedgie problem. These have extra-high elastane throughout the body, so they stay in place and won't ride up. Instead of constricting midsections, the best long-torso swimsuits we tested fit comfortably both in the water and after drying. To learn about more of our favorite one-pieces, see our guide to the best swimsuits for women. Swimsuit brands with specific long-torso sizingWhether you're on the taller side or your torso measures over 30 inches, here's where to find stylish, size-inclusive one-pieces:Andie's long torso swimsuits come in basic silhouettes, inclusive sizes, and high-quality fabrics. The brand got our best overall award, and a special shoutout to their active, tall-friendly suits. For shoppers who want more shaping and compression, TA3's long-torso swimsuits feature bust support and waist-cinching lacing.Summersalt's long-torso swimsuits come in sleek, modern silhouettes with plenty of solid-color and colorblocked options.Though not all of their suits come in long-torso options, it's worth checking out Boden's swimwear if you like pattern-heavy designs.Carve Designs uses a really soft, stretchy fabric that's made with recycled materials, and its sporty fits are small-bust-friendly. 4 editor-favorite long-torso swimsuitsBest overall: Andie Swim Mykonos One Piece LTTalia Ergas, AndieWith a deeply plunging neckline, thick straps, and good bum coverage, this suit has a silhouette that's highly becoming on a variety of body types. The Mykonos suit is my go-to because it's super cute, but it also offers decent coverage to keep me secure during the day's activities. The eco-nylon one-piece comes in nine solid colors, with both smooth and ribbed variations, and it's available in sizes XS-XXL. I love that when you top it with a sheer beach skirt or a pair of denim cutoffs, it looks just like a cute top that's perfect for a beach bar.See our full Andie swim review to find out more about why we love the brand and see how the suits look on real people. You can also check out more of the brand's long-torso suits.Best budget: Quince Italian Cami One-Piece SwimsuitGabrielle Chase/Business InsiderIn the Italian Cami One-Piece, I laid fully stretched out on a reclined beach chair, happy as a seal sunning itself on a rock. The straps are adjustable, giving you more control over chest coverage. This is helpful if you're at say, a family pool party and prefer a more modest neckline. I liked how the seat is full coverage enough for this kind of setting.Inside, the shelf bra has removable foam cups. I usually remove these because they tend to turn heavy or lumpy when wet. I left them in while testing this one-piece because without them, the fabric is thin enough that nipples can be seen poking through. The poly-Spandex fabric feels stretchy, soft, and closely-fitted. I'm a size 4 and the small fit me with little room to spare. It takes a minute to squeeze into because of the mild compressive effect, but once it's on, it's on. Everything stayed in its place, even as I bodysurfed through crashing waves.Read more in our full Quince swimsuit review.Best for large busts: TA3 Lifty in X-LongTA3The best swimsuits for large busts offer comfortable support in the chest area without feeling constricting. TA3's Lifty in X-Long won our top spot overall since it offers a ton of support, comes in cup sizes up to J/K, and is available up to a 4XL. It even comes in regular/tall versions and an extra long torso version. Plus, it's fitted with TA3's signature corseted back, which means it really pulls your waist in. Here's what executive editor Sally Kaplan had to say: "The thick shoulder straps are comfy and adjustable, and the cups cradle me perfectly with no digging. It even looks super cute as a bodysuit, so you could theoretically wear it with jeans or flowy linen pants and no one would be the wiser."But I know you're all here to find out whether it actually does what it promises to do, which is give you a snatched waist. The short answer is: yes! The longer answer is absolutely yes; the lacing in the back actually works like a dream to cinch your waist in. But the good news is that if you're ever feeling bloated or you just want something a little less compressive, you can always just loosen it up. It's like having two sizes in one!"See our TA3 swimsuit review to find more of our favorite suits (many of which also come in X-Long torso versions)
