The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Sokoto State has announced Hon. Bello Isah Ambarura, the member representing Illela/Gwadabawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as its deputy governorship candidate for the 2027 governorship election. The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by its Caretaker Committee Publicity Secretary, Hon. Lamir Aminu. According to the statement, Ambarura will run alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Manir Muhammad Dan-Iya in the 2027 poll. The ADC noted that the nomination was made in line with Section 187(1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), following extensive consultations and careful consideration of the qualities needed to provide effective leadership for the state. Describing Ambarura as a seasoned technocrat and experienced public servant, the party highlighted his career spanning the civil service, as well as the executive and legislative arms of government. Reacting to the announcement, the governorship candidate, Dan-Iya, described the move as a significant milestone in the party’s election preparations. He expressed confidence that the ADC now presents a formidable, experienced, and dedicated team capable of delivering purposeful leadership to the people of Sokoto State. In a statement issued by his Media Aide, Aminu Abdullahi, the ADC gubernatorial candidate commended the party leadership, elders, and stakeholders for the confidence reposed in Hon. Ambarura.
