The member representing Jos North-North in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Adamu Aliyu, has dismissed reports alleging that he resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the claims as false and the handiwork of political mischief-makers. Addressing journalists on Tuesday in Jos, the lawmaker said he remains a duly registered and card-carrying member of the APC in Naraguta B Ward, reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the party under whose platform he was elected in the 2023 general elections. “It has come to my knowledge that rumours are making the rounds that I have resigned my membership of the APC. This is not only far from the truth, but it is also the handiwork of mischief-makers who harbour evil intentions for our great party and its teeming supporters in Jos North Local Government Area,” he said. Aliyu explained that party membership or withdrawal follows an established procedure beginning at the ward level, insisting that no such process had been initiated by him. “I still remain a duly registered, card-carrying member of the APC in Naraguta B Ward and, by the grace of God, the member representing Jos North-North Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly on the platform of the APC,” he stated. The lawmaker acknowledged that there were disputes arising from the recently conducted APC primaries in his constituency, alleging that they were instigated by aspirants who failed to secure the party’s mandate. “As a loyal party man and law-abiding citizen, I will pursue all lawful and constitutional channels to ensure that the renewed mandate freely given to me by the people is sustained, protected, and upheld,” he declared.
