Troops of Sector 2, Operation Hadin Kai, have destroyed several suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) hideouts and logistics bases during ongoing clearance operations in Gujba Local Government Area (LGA) of Yobe State. Military sources said the operation is targeting suspected insurgents who fled the Lake Chad Islands and the Timbuktu Triangle and are believed to have taken refuge in communities within the local government area. According to the sources, troops discovered and destroyed multiple camps and other structures allegedly used by the insurgents as logistics bases and operational hideouts. The military has sustained offensive operations under Operation Hadin Kai across the North-East in a bid to dismantle insurgent networks and restore security in the region.
