Deji Elumoye in Abuja and Sunday Ehigiator in Lagos President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, following the death of her husband, Mr. Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who passed away in Lagos on Wednesday at the age of 62. The President, in a statement yesterday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, sympathised with Mrs. Adeosun, the Adeosun family, friends and business associates over the loss. Tinubu urged the bereaved family to take solace in the enduring legacies of faith, service and charity left behind by the deceased, whom he described as a devout Christian. The President noted the widespread tributes and testimonies that have trailed Adeosun’s passing, particularly highlighting his commitment to supporting the less privileged and contributing positively to society. He prayed that Almighty God would grant Mrs. Adeosun and the entire family the strength and comfort to bear the loss, while granting the deceased eternal rest. The Adeosun family had earlier announced the passing of Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun in a statement signed on its behalf by Rev. C. A. Adeosun. The family described him as a distinguished businessman and devoted Christian whose life was characterised by integrity, generosity and unwavering faith. According to the statement, “Adeosun was committed to his family, his community and the service of God, leaving behind a legacy that touched many lives. “He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, his children, siblings, including Mr. Adewale (Wale) Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital, as well as other relatives, friends and associates.” The family expressed appreciation for the prayers, condolences and support received since his passing, while requesting privacy as it mourns the loss. Quoting Revelation 14:13, the family said: “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” It added that details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced in due course.
