As Rotarian Emeka Kenneth Nsolibe assumes office as the 30th President of the Rotary Club of Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos, his emergence reflects a lifetime of professional excellence, ethical leadership and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service. With nearly three decades of experience in supply chain management and a track record of impactful community service, Nsolibe embodies Rotary’s ideal of “Service Above Self,” bringing to the role a vision centred on sustainable development, integrity and lasting impact. Royce Okolie reports  There are individuals who merely witness history, there are those who observe events from a distance, and there are those whose lives become instruments of transformation. Rotarian Emeka Kenneth Nsolibe undoubtedly belongs to the last category—a man whose life has been defined by excellence, integrity, service, and an unwavering commitment to making society better than he met it. His recent installation as the 30th President of the Rotary Club of Victoria Garden City (VGC), Lagos, is not simply another leadership appointment. It is the culmination of decades of professional distinction, community service, and personal discipline that have earned him the respect of colleagues, friends, and members of the Rotary family. It is also a recognition of a man whose philosophy is rooted in creating opportunities, empowering people, and leaving behind enduring legacies. Born on April 1, 1971, into the family of Mr. Julius Chukwuma Nsolibe and the late Mrs. Agnes Nsolibe of Umuezenkaram, Ubahuekwem in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Emeka was raised with the timeless values of honesty, humility, hard work, faith, and compassion. These principles would later become the compass that guided his personal and professional journey. His educational foundation began at New Haven Primary School, Enugu, before he proceeded to the prestigious Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha, graduating with the Class of 1988. Determined to equip himself with the knowledge required for a meaningful career, he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). Never one to stop learning, he later obtained an MBA from the National Open University of Nigeria and a Diploma in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University, USA, strengthening his expertise in one of the world’s most critical business disciplines. Today, with more than twenty-eight years of professional experience, Emeka Nsolibe stands among Nigeria’s leading supply chain professionals. His career has traversed some of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies, where he has consistently delivered excellence in procurement, logistics, contracts, supplier quality assurance, shipping, expediting, and materials management. Currently serving as the Regional Procurement Manager for Africa at TechnipFMC, he oversees complex procurement operations across the continent, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and value creation in large-scale energy projects. Before joining TechnipFMC, he distinguished himself in strategic positions at Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO), AMEC Contractors West Africa Limited, and ExxonMobil projects, where his technical competence and leadership contributed significantly to the successful delivery of major projects. His achievements in the corporate world have earned him membership and fellowship of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (United Kingdom), the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Chain Management of Nigeria, and the African Centre for Supply Chain, where he is a Fellow. Yet, despite his impressive corporate accomplishments, those who know Emeka closely often speak less about his professional titles and more about his humanity. He believes that success finds its true meaning only when it improves the lives of others. That conviction naturally drew him to Rotary International, one of the world’s foremost humanitarian organisations. Since joining the Rotary Club of Victoria Garden City during the 2017/2018 Rotary Year, Emeka has immersed himself in the ideals of service above self. Rather than merely attending meetings, he chose to become actively involved in planning and implementing projects that directly impact communities. Over the years, he has served as Club Service Projects Chairman, Vice President, Club Foundation Chairman, member of the District Governor Installation Committee, and member of the ROSFEST Committee, among several other responsibilities. In every role, he demonstrated exceptional organisational ability, humility, accountability, and a deep commitment to Rotary’s mission. These qualities made his emergence as the club’s 30th President both fitting and widely celebrated. His installati
