A prominent Muslim organisation, Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society (NASFAT), Osun Zone, on Sunday held a special prayer for the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC ) in the August 15 governorship election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO). The event, which took place at the NASFAT Asiwaju Khamis Olatunde Badmus (NAKOB) Central Mosque Dagbolu Osogbo in collaboration with the National Headquarters of NASFAT, attracted a large crowd including prominent leaders of the Islamic organization. Speaking at the event, Ajiroba Maruf Adedokun, Vice President II of NASFAT Worldwide, clarified that while NASFAT does not belong to any political party, the organisation organized the prayer for Oyebamiji as an individual being one of its founding members. “The reason why we organize the prayer for Alhaji Munirudeen Oyebamiji is because he is one of our founders, and we want to support him as an individual, not a political party, and we pray he emerge in this coming election inshallah” Adedokun explained. He appealed to NASFAT members to ensure a peaceful election on Saturday, urging everyone to conduct themselves with decorum. Meanwhile, over 50 members of the organization benefited from the empowerment programme of NASFAT. The wife of the governorship candidate, Alhaja Sekinat Oyebamiji, who spearheaded the empowerment initiative, distributed N50,000 each to 50 beneficiaries drawn from different branches of the society from Osun zone, including Osogbo, Ikirun, Ede, Ile-Ife, Iwo, Modakeke, Ilesha, Ejigbo, Iree, Ikire, and several others. “The motive is just to empower Muslim men and women who are people from Osun to support them, with the hope of Allah accept it for me as act of worship and make it easy for my husband to emerge as the Governor and I urge all beneficiaries to use the funds wisely either to invest in their businesses or to boost existing enterprises” she said. Speaking on the occasion, Oyebamiji expressed gratitude to NASFAT members and leaders for the prayer He declared that his administration, if elected, would put the people first and pledged to ensure good governance in the state. “I glorify Almighty Allah. We have NASFAT members from Lagos, Osun, Oyo, and Ogun, and this is the first of its kind that NASFAT has organised such for anyone. This gladdens my heart, and it is a signal that comes on the 15th of August, 2026, I, Munirudeen Oyebamiji, will be the Governor of Osun State.” “The government of Munirudeen Oyebamiji will be a government of the people, for the people and this implies that the Christians, Muslims and other religion will enjoy my government when voted as governor of Osun State” he said.
