For one thing, it really works. It did a great job pulling up cat and dog hair on every surface I tested, and I didn't need to spend a ton of time or elbow grease working it. Other BI Reviews editors and reporters swear by it, too. In fact, Brendan Griffiths, senior commerce director, has been using it to remove cat hair daily for the last two years. To operate the tool, you run it back and forth across the surface and hair collects inside the roller. You need to empty it after each use, but this is easy to do. I tested it on knit socks and leggings after other pet hair removers failed and found that the Chom Chom Roller did a better job removing hair. Although it's no substitute for a vacuum cleaner due to its small size, I also tried it on furniture and rugs. I alternated between pulling the hair clump off with our hands or using a lint roller to grab it up. This tool is easy to grip and use, and it effectively lifts hair from different types of clothing, including tights, sweaters, and jeans. However, I don't recommend it for loosely knit garments. It loosened the knit on one of the openwork sweaters I tested. I also tried it on dog beds. Among all the products I evaluated, this was the only one that could effectively lift hair (along with bark, grass, and dirt) from a dog bed made of shaggy fabric. The author easily collected fur from stretchy knit pants using the Gonzo sponge.Crystal Raypole/Business InsiderThe Gonzo Natural Magic Pet Hair Lifter is made of all-natural latex rubber and feels like a slightly sticky, rough sponge. It also has a slight odor. You use it dry, but you can wash it as needed, though it may take a day or two to dry completely. This pet hair remover should last a long time, too. I used it regularly over a few weeks and didn't notice it breaking down at all.Best for furnitureThe product packaging recommends the Lilly Brush Pro Pet Hair Tool Kit for use in cars, and it definitely removes pet hair from car seats and floor mats. But I consider this tool one of the best pet hair removers because it also does a great job removing pet hair from furniture and carpeted surfaces like cat trees. It did a great job removing hard-to-see fur from the sofa, and the long-handled crevice tool does an excellent job cleaning corners and tricky surfaces, like narrow spaces between chair cushions and car seats. On a carpeted cat tree, it pull
