Adeleke Wins first LGA in Osun Election

Governor Ademola Adeleke has emerged victorious in Osogbo Local Government Area of Osun State in Saturday’s governorship election. According to the results announced at the Osogbo Collation Centre, Adeleke, who ran under Accord Party, polled 36,480 votes to defeat his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 30,474 votes. The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came a distant third with 1,503 votes, while the African Action Congress (AAC) candidate received 107 votes. The result showed that a total of 70,785 votes were cast in the local government, out of which 69,307 were valid, while 1,478 votes were rejected. Osogbo LGA had 167,704 registered voters, with 70,840 voters accredited for the election. The result gives Adeleke a margin of 6,006 votes over Oyebamiji in the local government.
