The Zamfara State Government has commenced training for 250 teachers, evaluators and education administrators as part of efforts to improve teaching standards and learning outcomes across the state. The training, organised under the 18-day Global Standard Teacher Transformation Programme (GSTTP), entered its third day on Wednesday at the Zamfara College of Arts and Science (ZACAS), Gusau. The third-day sessions focused on Educational Technology and Artificial Intelligence (EdTech/AI), Active Teaching and Learning (ATLs), Curriculum Vitae (CV) development, and Educational Change and Growth (ECG). Participants were divided into groups to enable them to engage effectively with the different modules and acquire practical knowledge in line with the approved training timetable. The programme is designed to equip teachers, evaluators and education administrators with modern skills, innovative teaching approaches and global best practices in contemporary education. The state Ministry of Education, Science and Technology said the initiative was part of its broader efforts to transform the education sector and develop a competent, innovative and future-ready workforce. According to the ministry, incorporating technology and artificial intelligence into teacher development would help educators adapt to emerging trends and improve classroom teaching and learning. It added that strengthening the capacity of teachers and education managers remained critical to improving school leadership and learning outcomes. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to human capital development, saying meaningful transformation of the education sector begins with improving the capacity of those responsible for delivering education. The 18-day GSTTP is expected to expose participants to practical teaching methodologies and other contemporary approaches aimed at improving education delivery in Zamfara State.
