TAJBank Limited, Nigeria’s largest non-interest bank by assets, has recorded a significant improvement in its financial performance, with Profit Before Tax (PBT) rising by 74% year-on-year to N31.562 billion in FY2025, compared with N18.166 billion in FY2024. The bank’s audited FY2025 financial statements also showed strong growth across key performance indicators. Total assets increased to N1.34 trillion, up from N953 billion in the previous year, while total equity rose by 144% to N149.230 billion, compared with N61.250 billion in FY2024. In recognition of shareholders’ contribution to the bank’s sustained growth, the Board approved a 20-kobo dividend per share at TAJBank’s recently concluded virtual 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM). Speaking on the dividend declaration, the bank’s Board Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Gwamna, said the decision was a way of rewarding shareholders for their continued support and contributions to TAJBank’s growth. “The Board rewarded the shareholders for their contributions to the growth of TAJBank as we have been doing over the years.” The Managing Director/CEO of TAJBank, Mr. Hamid Joda, attributed the bank’s stronger financial performance to the management’s prudent approach to financial management and operations. He said the improved results were helping to strengthen investor confidence in the bank, while assuring shareholders that their funds remained secure and positioned to deliver sustainable returns. The bank’s Executive Director, Mr. Sheriff Idi, also reaffirmed TAJBank’s commitment to putting the interests of its shareholders and customers at the centre of its operations. “We greatly value our shareholders and customers because their interest is why we are in business and we will always prioritise them in our operations,” he said. TAJBank has, over the past five years, strengthened its position in Nigeria’s rapidly expanding non-interest banking sector. The bank was recently recognised by regulatory authorities as the largest player in the subsector based on total assets and gross earnings, according to its approved half-year 2025 financial statements. The bank’s growth has also been accompanied by recognition from industry and professional bodies. TAJBank won BusinessDay awards in 2021, 2022 and 2023, following its receipt of the Leadership Newspapers’ 2020 Bank of the Year award. In addition, the bank has strengthened its information security and technology governance frameworks through international certifications. Between 2022 and 2023, TAJBank obtained the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification, as well as three ISO certifications from Certification Partner Global (CPG): ISO 27001 for Information Security, ISO 22301 for Business Continuity, and ISO 20000 for IT Service Management Systems.
