Chairman of the forthcoming 2nd Nigeria Golf Summit, Lawal Garba, has expressed optimism that the event will provide fresh opportunities for Nigerian golfers and stakeholders to advance the development of the sport. The summit, organised for golf stakeholders and enthusiasts, is scheduled for August 26 and 27 at NICON Luxury Hotel, Abuja. Garba, Chairman of Trobell Nigeria Limited and a passionate golfer, described the summit as an important platform for participants to network, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for personal and professional growth through the sport. He said the gathering would enable golfers and stakeholders from different backgrounds to build relationships while contributing to the broader development of golf in Nigeria. “We all belong into respective fields but I believe golf is bringing us together for a purpose. We have to maximize the opportunities of the forthcoming summit to make friends and also learn more about the sport. “The development of golf in Nigeria is also paramount and all these and many more will be on the cards at the summit. I am just so happy that this is happening especially at the right time,” Garba said. The second edition of the Nigeria Golf Federation Summit is expected to attract leading golfers, administrators, industry stakeholders and other personalities from Nigeria and beyond. His Royal Highness, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, will serve as the Royal Father of the event, while former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and former Plateau State Governor, Senator Simon Bako Lalong, are Special Guests of Honour. President of the Nigeria Golf Federation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, OON, said preparations for the summit had reached an advanced stage, adding that the second edition would build on the success of the inaugural event. “The agenda is loaded especially because there are many things on the cards, we want Nigerians to know more about the sport and our plans about the development.”
