The Edo State Police command has arrested a suspect identified as Orji Okoro over alleged sexual assault on a 12-year-old male apprentice. Parading the suspect, alongside other suspected criminals, the state commissioner of Police, Patrick Daaor, said the suspect was arrested on August 13, 2026. The suspect in an interview with journalists blamed alcohol for the crime. “I defiled a young boy, I was drunk when the incident happened. Alcohol pushed me commit the crime. “I am a family man; it was the devil that pushed him to commit the crime.” He said he was arrested after his victim reported the incident to his master, who also reported the matter to the police The Commissioner assured that the suspect would be charged to court.
