Uganda's Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, announced that a new factory for locally manufacturing foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccines will reduce costs for farmers. The factory, a partnership between Uganda and Egypt, is expected to lower vaccine prices significantly. Currently, cows are vaccinated at Shs8,000 and goats at Shs4,000.
