President Paul Biya of Cameroon returned to the country on Thursday after a 73-day absence, which had sparked speculation about his health. The 93-year-old leader, who has been in power since 1982, landed from Geneva, where he had been staying since June 7. His prolonged absence had drawn criticism from the opposition, who condemned an 'institutional vacuum'.
