The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed its candidates to begin campaigns for the 2027 general elections, emphasizing that all activities must be issue-based and free of violence, abusive language, and inflammatory rhetoric. The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, said the campaign would adhere to its ideology of peaceful political engagement. The directive aligns with the election timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The party instructed its presidential candidate, Peter Obi; vice-presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; and National Assembly candidates to start local consultations and engagements immediately.
