Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has warned politicians against recruiting young Nigerians for political violence ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking at the National Youth Leadership and Security Dialogue in Abuja, Disu emphasized that the police will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt the electoral process. He stated that the police will ensure a peaceful electoral environment but will not shield anyone involved in violence, voter intimidation, or destruction of property. Disu urged political leaders to refrain from using youths for violent activities.
