Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has updated its temporary residence processing times, increasing the estimated wait for Nigerian study permit applications to nine weeks, up from eight weeks. The update, effective August 19, 2026, also affects other categories and countries. Nigerian work permit processing remains at nine weeks, while applicants from Pakistan saw a significant reduction in work permit processing time.
