NFF handed a 24-hour ultimatum to resign

The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), led by Ibrahim Gusau, has reportedly been given a 24-hour ultimatum to resign following accusations of maladministration, misappropriation, and misjudgment. The order is said to have come from the National Sports Commission (NSC) amid concerns over the administration of football in Nigeria. This follows the failure of the Super Eagles to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and the Super Falcons' failure to qualify for the 2027 Women's World Cup for the first time in history. The NSC reportedly met with presidency officials to discuss the crisis, with another meeting scheduled with the Chief of Staff to the President.
