Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has responded to President Bola Tinubu's criticism of his proposed petroleum-sector intervention, accusing the President of economic ignorance. Tinubu had described Atiku's promise to restore fuel subsidy as a demonstration of serious ignorance on governance and the economy. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku described Tinubu's remark as the insolent sermon of a failed economic experimenter who mistakes Nigerians' capacity to endure suffering for evidence that his policies are working.
