South Africa: Eastern Cape Officials Should Be Vigilant in Considering Deep Process To Avoid Poor Performance by Contractors, Nkosi Mwelo Nonkonyana

Nkosi Mwelo Nonkonyana, leader of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) delegation to the Eastern Cape, has called on government officials to be vigilant in scrutinising bid processes to avoid institutionalising poor performance by contractors. He said sub-standard infrastructure should not be associated with the province and that hijacking government funding at bid adjudication derails service delivery. The delegation was visiting as part of Provincial Week to follow up on previous recommendations.
