The Ministry of Education in Eritrea has developed a five-year strategic plan to eradicate illiteracy by 2030. The plan was formulated at a national conference held in Keren from 18 to 20 August, which reviewed progress over the past decade. Mr. Gebrezgi Dimam, Director General of Adult Education and Media, called for strengthened participation of partners in the effort. The plan includes adult education programs, evening classes, and community libraries.
