The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement on behalf of the government, urging Nigerians to use the occasion to promote peace, unity, and national cohesion. He emphasized the values of compassion, humility, and service to humanity as lessons from the Prophet's life.
