The Western Cape Government, through its Provincial Disaster Management Centre, has handed over specialized firefighting equipment valued at R250,000 to Bergrivier Municipality. The equipment includes 40 Level A responder suits and other gear to enhance the municipality's hazardous materials response capacity. This initiative is part of the Municipal Fire Service Capacity Building Grant, which aims to strengthen fire and rescue services through equipment, training, and operational support.
