Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company has called on the Federal Government to intervene in the tariff regime on electric vehicle (EV) components, warning that the current structure could undermine local production. The company made the appeal during a visit by a delegation from the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) as part of its Industrial Energy Adoption Programme. The delegation toured Innoson's EV production facility and inspected electric vehicles developed by the company. The call highlights concerns about the impact of import duties on the emerging electric mobility industry in Nigeria.
