Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, has explained his decision to leave the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He stated that his defection was not a rejection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but rather a response to lack of consultation, internal democracy, and sense of belonging under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq. Mustapha, who recently emerged as the PDP candidate for Kwara Central through a substitution process, made these remarks on Channels Television. He also mentioned that his move was part of a coalition of the Otoge Progressives, the G15, and the Elder Caucus.
