The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has begun moving military and logistics equipment from Nigeria to Sierra Leone, marking a step toward deploying a regional counter-terrorism force by mid-2027. The equipment, donated by the Chinese government, had been stored in Nigeria due to the unavailability of a regional logistics facility.
