Angelique Kidjo Makes History With Hollywood Walk of Fame Star

Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo has become the first Black African to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The five-time Grammy winner was honored at a ceremony in Los Angeles, attended by notable figures including actor Willem Dafoe and Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. Kidjo received the 2,854th star in the Recording category, after a career spanning over four decades and 16 albums. She is also a UNICEF and Oxfam ambassador and founder of the Batonga Foundation, which supports girls' education in Africa.
