Isyaku Usman Mu'azu, a 30-year-old miner in Plateau State, began mining at age 12 and has since made it his full occupation. He is among hundreds of young men drawn into the dangerous trade, which offers a decent income despite the risks. Mu'azu says mining provides his daily bread and peace of mind, and proceeds have improved his life, though the dangers remain ever-present.
